Automotive Safety Awareness-ICTC
On October 7th the Mt. Pleasant Area Technical Center Automotive Technology class participated in the Isabella County Transportation Commission (ICTC) safety awareness week. Throughout the week, ICTC was promoting safety awareness for their employees. MPATC automotive students toured the maintance facility and performed safety inspections on ICTC employees' personal vehicles. The inspections consisted of checking the battery, tire pressure, tire tread depth, oil and lights. The students performed inspections on approximately 15 vehicles. This exercise was part of the automotive students's service learning project. Service learning projects provide an opportunity to take the knowledge gained in the classroom and perform those skills in the job market.
