Car stereo and entertainment
systems are used to understand the basics of modern electronics.
The student will investigate the electronic components that
are used in amplifliers, speakers, and mobile audio equipment.
This class is for students who like to know things like:
How do robots work? What do all those specifications
mean? How do I make a circuit that flashes? How
can I repair a damaged circuit?
Students will learn from labs using state-of-the-art
test and measurement equipment. A group project provides
the opportunity to apply these skills. The career focus
for this class is on learning the skills needed to be an electronics
industry installer. Students may choose to prepare for
the Mobile Electronics Level I Installer Certification (MECP)
exam.
The Electronics
II course allows the students to work with the more advanced
equipment, components and circuits that support the students'
career interests. Topics of study can include car audio,
amplifier repair, robotics, computer interfacing, digital
and linear circuits, arcade electronics, and industrial controls.
