Students who like to work with their
hands and enjoy the challenge of working with metals should
consider welding. The welding program is designed to
prepare individuals for job ready employment within the welding
industry. Students will gain practical experience in
oxy-fuel welding and cutting, shielded metal arc welding,
gas metal arc welding, flux cored arc welding, gast tungsten
arc welding, manual and machine cutting processes, as well
as safety and the proper use of tools. Blueprint reading,
interpreting welding symbols, simple layout and fabrication
will also be stressed. Second year students will work
with advanced forms of welding along with in-depth projects,
fabrication and repairs.
