11 BPA STUDENTS QUALIFY FOR NATIONALCOMPETITION!
 
2006 BUSINESS PROFESSIONALS OF AMERICA STATE RESULTS
 

The 34th annual Business Professionals of America State Conference was held March 16-19 at the Amway Grand Plaza in Grand Rapids .

Thirty-five Mt. Pleasant High School and Area Technical Center students competed with approximately 3,500 students from other schools across the State of Michigan . Twenty-one Mt. Pleasant students were recognized as being among the top ten finalists in fourteen different competitions. Mt. Pleasant had six 1 st place finishes , three 2 nd , ten 3 rd , five 5 th , one 6 th , and one 7th . Nine of those students will advance to the National Leadership Competition. Mt. Pleasant was also honored by having six students earn the Statesman Torch Award, the State's highest recognition for school and community service. As well, Alyssa Roehmer was elected to the 2006-2007 State BPA Officer Team as Secretary/Treasurer.

 

The following students placed at the State Competition . The top two positions for team events, the top three positions for individual events, and all of the Statesman Torch Award recipients have the opportunity to participate in the National Leadership Conference in Orlando , Florida May 9-13 (highlighted in red).
