7 BPA STUDENTS QUALIFY FOR NATIONAL COMPETITION!
 
2005 BUSINESS PROFESSIONALS OF AMERICA STATE RESULTS
 

The 33rd annual Business Professionals of America State Conference was held March 17-20 at the Amway Grand Plaza in Grand Rapids.

Twenty-five Mt. Pleasant High School and Mt. Pleasant Area Technical Center students competed with approximately 3,500 students from other schools across the State of Michigan.  Seventeen Mt. Pleasant students were recognized as being among the top ten finalists in thirteen different competitions.  Mt. Pleasant had three 1st place finishers, four 2nd place, one 3rd place, two 4th place, three 6th place, and two top ten finalist winners.  Seven of those students will advance to National Competition.

Mt. Pleasant was also honored by having six students receive the Statesman Torch Award, the State's highest recognition for school and community service.

The following students placed at the State Competition.  The top two positions for team events along with the top three positions for individual events have the opportunity to participate in the National Leadership Conference in Anaheim, California, April 22-26
