CENA - CNA : Certified Nursing Assistant

C.N.A.'s are nursing assistants that have been certified through their respective state. Individuals have to take classes or work in a nursing home or hospital and register through Thomson Prometric. Once those steps have been completed students have to pass clinical and competency exams to test their knowledge and abilities of being a Certified Nursing Assistant.

The Mt. Pleasant Area Technical Center is a State Nursing Assistant Competency testing site. The MPATC administers the State Certification test that is issued through Thomson Prometric . On staff is Shirley Greening, a R.N. with over 25 years of nursing and teaching experience that observes the clinical or “hands-on” portion of the test. Karen Petoskey, the Career Information Specialist & CENA/CNA Testing Scheduler, then administers the written segment of the exam.

Testing is available Monday thru Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. (by appointment only) with correlation with the MPHS school calendar. The testing site is also open during the summer months Monday thru Thursday (by appointment only).   Our facility is friendly, fair, and has a great reputation for accommodating C.E.N.A./C.N.A. testers.
