Special Population services at the MPATC

The Special Populations program provides additional support to those students who may need assistance.  Services include a paraprofessional staff (teacher aides assigned to various programs) which allows for more individualized attention to students.  The Special Populations counselor works closely with school and community resources to provide additional information (in a confidential manner) to teaching staff in order to further address students' needs.

A Student Services Coordinator also provides students with academic support.  The Student Services Coordinator offers help to students in such areas as:  testing, reports, study skills, math review, and computer skills.  As well, a resume lab is established to help students sharpen their employability skills.  Students create resumes and cover letters tailored to their specific program and career.

All such services are in place to help students overcome any barriers to success in their career/technical programs.
